Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla was established on 22nd July 1970 under the Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating university and is the apex body of higher education in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The University is situated at Summerhill, Shimla – 171005.
The University has been ranked among the top universities in India and is accredited by NAAC. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes through its various teaching departments and over 200 affiliated colleges spread across Himachal Pradesh.
